I tried using vb-audio on my current macOS setup and, it just kept causing problems. I thought it would be simple to set up, but, actually, the setup info wasn’t very clear, and some parts felt like they were meant for older systems. I spent way too much time trying different fixes and still couldn’t get it working right. Maybe it’s fine for other people, but on my OS it was just a headache.

It’s fine overall, but it uses way more CPU than I expected. I thought it was supposed to be light, so that made me lose some trust in it.

I got vb-audio working eventually, and to be fair, it does what I needed after some trial and error. But the whole process felt more confusing than it should have, especially with the setup notes and support info being a little all over the place.

My bigger issue is the vague promises around what you’re really getting unless you pay extra or donate. It’s useful software, sure, but for basic use it started to feel pricey compared to the actual experience, so I’m not totally convinced it was worth it for me.

I wasn’t expecting much at first, but wow, the audio sounds really clean. I went from kind of doubtful to genuinely impressed after a few minutes of listening. It just sounds crisp and easy to enjoy

I’ve been using this for live audio routing, and the delay is low. Setup took a little time, but that’s kind of expected with this sort of thing. Once I had it running, it felt smooth and reliable enough for my needs. If low latency is what you care about, this does the job well. I’d give it 4 stars.

VB-Audio is really handy when it’s working right, but the driver stability has been kind of hit or miss for me. Sometimes after an update or a reboot, it just stops routing sound properly, which gets annoying. It’s not awful or anything, just a bit frustrating when it randomly acts up.

I do like the tools overall, but the update schedule feels really random to me. Sometimes things change and I’m not even sure what was fixed, or whether my current setup is still fully supported. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d really appreciate a little more consistency or clearer notes when updates roll out.

I ran into a small audio routing issue while setting things up, mostly because I probably clicked the wrong thing somewhere. Luckily, the community had answers quickly. People there are active and actually helpful, even with basic questions, which makes using vb-audio way less stressful.

I bought the license and did get everything working in the end, but the activation process was sorta confusing. I had to go back and read the email a couple of times before it clicked. The software seems fine now, but the setup just wasn’t the smoothest experience.

Voicemeeter has covered almost all of my audio routing needs. It took me a little while to figure out where some of the settings were, but once I got the hang of it, it’s been really useful.

Umm, this just makes routing my audio so much easier. I can send everything where I need it without messing around too much

It’s mostly been okay to use, honestly. I don’t have a huge problem with it, but it does crash sometimes, which gets kind of annoying when I’m in the middle of something. Not sure if it’s my device or the app itself, but yeah...

I’ve been using VB-Cable mostly to route my mic audio into Discord and OBS, and when it’s working, it does the job well. The sound is clean enough for my needs, and the delay hasn’t been anything too noticeable.
The setup was a little confusing at first, and I think other customers might run into the same thing if they’re not used to virtual audio devices. After a Windows update, it has occasionally switched devices on me or stopped passing audio altogether, and I did have to reinstall it once to get things working again.

For a free or donation-based tool, I still think it’s useful, especially for simple audio routing. I just wouldn’t call it completely reliable, and anyone using it should probably expect to spend a little time troubleshooting now and then.

I found vb-audio.com useful overall, but the site isn’t always super clear to navigate. Some pages have a ton of text and links, so it took me a little while to figure out what I actually needed to download.

It does work in the end, but it’s definitely not the easiest site when you’re just getting started. I think the layout could be a lot cleaner, especially for new users who don’t already know the products.

The docs were easy to get through, and I was able to find what I needed without feeling lost or having to dig around too much. Overall, a smooth experience.
